Hokendauqua: Christmas tea event Sunday at Faith Evangelical Lutheran

Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association is proud to announce Santa Claus will be riding through the streets of Hokendauqua on a fire company truck. He starts his visit noon Dec. 10. Santa and his helpers will be handing out oranges and bags of candy to the neighborhood children.
If you hear the sirens, feel free to come out and say hello to St. Nick!
In case of bad weather, Santa will visit Dec. 17.

The Woman’s Club of Whitehall Township will meet 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at Faith Lutheran Church. The club will welcome the Gilbert Family Singers - Sing for America for the evening’s entertainment.
Members are reminded the food pantry’s requested item is soup (no tomato). Also, donations for Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley requests pajamas (all sizes for women and children) and children’s books. You can also donate metal can tabs.
Guests and those interested in membership are welcome.

Final performances of Camp Rhythmo’s holiday production of Victor Herbert’s musical “Babes in Toyland” will be 7 p.m. Dec. 15 and 2 p.m. Dec. 16 in Parker Hall at Faith. Doors will open 30 minutes before each performance.

The Hokendauqua chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its 2018 beginner’s fly-tying course Jan. 6, 2018. The classes are three hours each for a total of 24 hours. They will start 9 a.m. Jan. 6 and will run for eight consecutive Saturday mornings through Feb. 24. The classes are held in the cafeteria of Northampton Area Middle School, 1617 Laubach Ave.
All materials and a 108-page manual are given to each student. A step-by-step video presentation on the tying of each fly is shown before the students start tying. Instructors will then help each student. Loaner tool kits are also available at no additional cost, or you may bring your own.
There is a cost for the course. There is a reduced cost for students 16 and under. If a student completes at least six weeks of the course, the fee will be refunded. Project Healing Waters veterans may attend at no cost.
