“Almost, Maine” will be performed by the Salisbury High School Theatre Department 7 p.m. Nov. 9, 10 and 11 and 3 p.m. Nov. 12. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by visiting salisburytheatre@salisburysd.org.

The Salisbury Falcon Twirlers will hold its annual designer purse and Longaberger basket bingo fundraiser Nov. 12 at Salisbury Middle School. Doors open noon and bingo begins 1 p.m. In addition to bingo, there will be raffles, door prizes and refreshments. For tickets and more information, contact salisburytwirlingboosters@gmail.com.

The SHS basketball program will hold the Bruce Uhl Falcon Basketball Camp 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 12 in the high school main gym. This camp is open to any Salisbury Middle School, Harry S Truman or Western Salisbury elementary school student in grades three to seven. Picture re-take day for SMS will be Nov. 10. Students should return the picture packet if getting a retake.

It is parent/teacher conference time, so that means early dismissals. HST and WSE will have 1 p.m. dismissals Nov. 16, 17, 20, 21 and 22. SMS will dismiss 12:15 p.m. Nov. 17, 20, 21 and 22. SHS will have a 12:15 p.m. dismissal Nov. 17 and 22.

All township schools will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 23, 24 and 27.

As I do every year as Black Friday approaches, I will make my plea on behalf of all retail employees. First, stay home on Thanksgiving. Spend time with family and friends. Secondly, when you go out on Black Friday, be nice and be patient. Those workers are putting in long hours and some of them haven’t been working there long and can get very overwhelmed. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

The next school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the administration building. The newest inductees to the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor will be recognized at this meeting.

The program is designed to recognize notable alumni who have brought honor to the district.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold its Veterans Day community breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. Nov. 11. Special menu items include harvest breakfast braid, red, white and blue fruit cobbler and pumpkin pancakes. A donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the Jubilee Breakfast Ministry for the homeless.

The Devonshire drop-off will be open Nov. 18 and 21. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
