George P. Peters, 94, of Macungie, died Nov. 5, 2017. He was the devoted husband of the late Sally (Michael) Peters. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late George J. and Anna (Mingora) Peters.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He retired in 1983 as the foreman of #2 Machine Shop at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 42 years of service.

He was a parishioner of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Allentown.

He was a member of the National Sokols and an avid golfer.

He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne L. Kozy, of Coopersburg; sister, Rose Ortwein, of Hellertown; brother, Charles, of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, George Jr. and Michael; grandson, Nicholas; brothers, John, Edward; sister, Mary Malinski.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

A visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, 18018 with a service to follow 11 a.m.
