Salisbury Township School District and Salisbury Township are partnering to host the third annual community breakfast for Salisbury Township residents, employees and school district alumni 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St., Allentown.

The free breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juices. Please RSVP at https://www.salisburysd.org/breakfast. If you don’t have Internet access, call 610-797-2062, ext. 1000.

The SHS sophomore class is selling Blue Mountain candles in a variety of scents. The junior class is selling pies and the senior class is selling gift cards from many different stores. Community members interested in supporting the sophomore, junior or senior classes should talk to a student for more information or call the office at 610-797-4107.

The debate team’s official season begins Nov. 8 with its first debate of the season. This year the debate team will be discussing whether or not the Fairness Doctrine, a law that required broadcasters to represent both sides of an argument, should be reinstated in the United States. The team will have another debate Nov. 15 before the topic will change.

The following colleges will be visiting the high school. Students interested in meeting with the representatives should talk with their guidance counselor. Pennsylvania College of Technology 8:15 a.m. Nov. 9; Centenary University 9 a.m. Nov. 9; Kutztown University 1 p.m. Nov. 13 and United States Navy 9:40 a.m. Nov. 14.

Salisbury High School will present its fall play, “Almost, Maine” 7 p.m. Nov. 7 through 11 and 3 p.m. Nov. 12. Come support the SHS theater.

Family members of SHS students are invited to Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 20 during the following lunch periods: 11:07 to 11:37 a.m. for Lunch A; 11:49 a.m. to 12:19 p.m. for Lunch B and 12:31 to 1:01 p.m. for Lunch C. The special Thanksgiving menu prepared by the new food service company will include oven roasted sliced turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread stuffing, buttered green beans, cranberry relish, warm wheat rolls and homemade pumpkin bars. RSVP tickets and payment are due to the office by Nov. 16. There is a small cost for lunch. More information can be found at salisburysd.us.

Students will have a 12:15 p.m. dismissal Nov. 17. A half day Nov. 22 will start the Thanksgiving break. Students will have off Nov. 23 through 27.
