Elza Brachman, 86, of Macungie, died Oct. 29, 2017, after a courageous several-year battle with cancer, in her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Armand E. Brachman Sr. Born in Riga, Latvia, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Antonia (Ziemelis) Adgers.
She was a driven professional in all her varied interests. She was an accomplished career microbiologist. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Emmaus Garden Club. Her landscaping and floral designs won accolades, including landing a Rodale book cover.
While achieving so much personally, she provided love and support to all around her and reminded everyone to be fearless in their pursuits.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Armand E. Jr. and his wife Mary and Erik A.; daughter, Dina and her husband Neil Goldstein; brother, Roland Adgers and his wife Elvira; grandchildren, Bret and Lara Brachman-Goldstein.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
