Whitehall Township Public Library: Library to demonstrate food database

Intro to A to Z World Food is a new database that patrons can access free from our website. Come in and see the demonstration of this easy-to-use and helpful site. We will have a demonstration 6 p.m. Nov. 14 in the community room.

The database includes 6,000 traditional recipes and customs from 173 countries, more than 540 ingredient articles and 750-plus world beer reviews and shows you step by step how to make the meals.

Did you know you can find some bargain prices and support the library at the same time? Mark your calendar for the annual new and gently used book sale to be held 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 17 and 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 18. There will be a bag sale noon-3 p.m. Nov. 18. You can bring any size bag. We will also have a table full of yummy treats for sale and another table with holiday decorations and other items for purchase.

Come to our third Monday open mic and jam night, set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. Thank you to Rocking the Valley Online Radio for helping us. This family-friendly monthly program is open to anyone in the area.

Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up just before 6:30 p.m. Musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, writers, storytellers, etc. are invited to come show off their stuff, or just come and be part of the audience.

Third Tuesday movie night is held 6:15 p.m. unless otherwise noted. We will be showing “Beauty and the Beast” (PG / 129 Minutes) Nov. 21.

Our movie for Dec. 19 will be “Crown for Christmas.”

The weekly beading club meeting times have changed for the winter months. The group will now meet 1:30 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday.
