Robert H. Smale, 97, of Whitehall, died Oct. 23, 2017, at his residence at Fellowship Manor. He was the husband of the late Irene M. (Kovach) Smale.

Born in West Catasauqua, he was a son of the late William H. and Lillian M. (Weiss) Smale.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a cloth finisher for the former Lehigh Dyeing & Finishing Inc., Allentown, for 27 years until he retired in 1984.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mickleys, Whitehall.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Janet M. Smale.
