The annual Harry S Truman Elementary School book fair is in full swing this week. Students will have the opportunity to shop during the day or there are evening hours 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 2. Show your support with this fundraiser and get some new books!

Nov. 2 marks the end of the first marking period for the middle and high schools.

On Nov. 3, HST and Western Salisbury Elementary School will have an 11:15 a.m. dismissal. If transportation plans are different from regular dismissals, please notify the school as soon as possible.

All Salisbury Township schools will be closed Nov. 6 and 7 for teachers professional development days.

The next operations committee meeting will be 7 p.m. Nov. 6 in the administration building.

The Salisbury High School fall play, “Almost, Maine” will be performed Nov. 9 through 12. Tickets are available via email at salisburytheatre@salisburysd.org or call 610-797-4103, ext. 2508.

HST will hold its annual Veterans Day event 2 p.m. Nov. 10.

Salisbury Township School District and Salisbury Township are partnering to host the third annual Community Breakfast. Salisbury Township residents, employees and school district alumni are invited 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at SHS, 500 E. Montgomery St., Allentown. Breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juices. Breakfast is free, but RSVPs are appreciated by visiting https://www.salisburysd.org/breakfast.

Please help support the Salisbury Twirlers by attending the annual bingo fundraiser Nov. 12 at Salisbury Middle School. Doors open noon; bingo 1 p.m. Extra game cards, specials, basket raffles, refreshments and door prizes are available. The 2017 Bruce Uhl Falcon Basketball Camp will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 12 in the SHS main gym. This event is run by SHS boys basketball and is available to all WSE/HST/SMS students in grades three to seven. There is a small cost per player. Cash and checks can be made payable to Salisbury Boys Basketball Booster Club and mailed to Jason Weaver, c/o SHS, 500 East Montgomery St., Allentown, 18103.

The next school board meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in the administration building.

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury will host a basket social 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the church, 1707 Church Road, Allentown. Contact Louise for tickets or if you would like to donate a filled basket or chance item at 610-866-1611.

Jerusalem will have food for sale on Election Day, Nov. 7. Items available include ham and cheese, vegetable soup and baked goods.

Boy Scouts in Troop 146 and Cub Scouts in Pack 146 will hold the annual food drive collection Nov. 11. Residents who would like to donate food for this annual drive should contact a Scout or call David or Pat Yemm at 610-791-0983.
