Dorothy M. Monteleone, 95, formerly of Emmaus and Allentown, died peacefully Oct. 6, 2017. She was the wife of the late Dr. Lou Monteleone who died in December 1996. Born in Augusta Springs, Va., she was the daughter of the late Leate Jarman and Annie Elizabeth (Heiston) Hammer.
She grew up in Hanover and graduated from Hanover High School in 1939.
She worked in the dental office, in Allentown, with her husband for many years.
She loved painting, gardening, sewing, cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown.
She is survived by children, Stephen Mummert and his wife, Susanne of Hanover; Susan and her husband Todd Heller, of Orefield; Terry and wife, Heidi of Indiana; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Jon and family, of Sparta, N.J. and Kathy Sabarese and family of Bonita Springs, Fla. She was predeceased by a grandson, Stephen Mummert Jr.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
