Barry F. Szajkovics

Barry F. Szajkovics, 51, of Wescosville, died Oct. 25, 2017, in his home. He was the husband of Teresa A. Szajkovics, of Allentown. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Margaret J. (Hafner) Szajkovics. He was also the son of his adoptive parents Marian G. (Molinaro) Howell and the late Leo K. Howell Sr.

He was a mortgage broker and owner of the former Creative Mortgage Solutions of Allentown. He worked in mortgages and finances most of his life and was everyone’s “go to” person when they needed financial advice. He was always happy and readily available to help everyone.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Allentown, where he previously sang on the choir and taught Catechism.

He was a past member of the Lions Club of Allentown and a current member of both Jordan-Martin Lodge No. 673 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Allentown and the Joseph Sertoma Club of Allentown.

In his early years he was involved in various local dinner theaters including Shepherd Hills, Peddler’s Village and Genetti’s. He loved music and performing and taught voice and piano lessons for many years.

He is survived by his wife; adoptive mother; children, Jessica L., Joshua C. and Jacob C., all of Allentown; grandchildren, Lamere, Cierra and Jayden; cousin, Marlene Takacs, of Bethlehem; adoptive brother, Mark K. Howell, of Columbia, Md. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Johanna Hafner.

Contributions may be made to the family in c/o the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.

Services will be held Nov. 1 with visitation beginning 6 p.m. followed by a memorial service 7 p.m. at the Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, 18102.
