Edward J. Zamborsky, Esquire

Attorney Edward J. Zamborsky died peacefully at home Oct. 16, 2017. He was the husband of Marykay (Barnes) Zamborsky for 51 years.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Dr. Edward and Helen (Gresko) Zamborsky.

He attended Allentown High School, graduated from Moravian Academy in 1959, Lehigh University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, and Villanova Law School in 1966 with his Juris Doctor degree.

During the Vietnam War, he served as a military police officer and CID investigator at Fort Eustis, Va. He received noteworthy commendations for his work from the Office of the Provost Marshal and the FBI. Soon after his honorable discharge, he returned to Allentown and opened his own law practice.

He was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania; Pennsylvania Supreme Court; Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court; and Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

During his career, he was an assistant district attorney, assistant solicitor for Lehigh County, solicitor for the FOP, solicitor for the Lehigh County Medical Society, former president of the Family Law Section and board director of the Lehigh County Bar Association, former council member of the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar and a greatly admired adjunct professor in real estate and family law for the paralegal programs at Penn State (Allentown campus) and Lehigh Carbon Community College.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stephen and his wife Marcella; a daughter, Kathryn and husband John Haggerty; six grandchildren, John, Alexander, Brady, Callie, Riley and Conner; a sister, Barbara Stone and her husband Ronald; two brothers, Donald and his wife Kathy and Joseph and his wife Lisa; and numerous nephews, nieces and their families.

He was predeceased by a brother, John.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Liver Foundation Mid-Atlantic Division, 1528 Walnut St., Suite 2020, Philadelphia, 19102; or to the charity of one’s choice specifying in memory of Edward J. Zamborsky.

A memorial service will be held in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 W. Tilghman St., 11 a.m. Oct. 27.
