Halloween blood drive

Miller-Keystone Blood Center and radio station B104 are partnering for a Halloween-themed blood drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Bethlehem donor center, 1465 Valley Center Parkway. The center will be open for regular operating hours from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

LVHN is HIT designate

Health Information Technology has named the Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Healthcare and Information Management Systems Society EMR Adoption Model Stage 7 designation for inpatient and ambulatory care. LVHN awards included Wired Awards of Innovator and Advanced and the HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence.

The Davies Award team assessed LVHN’s clinical, administrative, informatics and technology support for deployment and use of the electronic health record to enhance patient care.

The LVHN team shared three case studies as part of the onsite assessment which showed how LVHN has improved patient care, safety and satisfaction by leveraging electronic health records to support improvement projects.
