The Salisbury football team hopes to keep its momentum going in search of its third consecutive win on Friday night when it hosts Palmerton (5-3). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Salisbury High School.
When the Falcons (4-4) welcome a Blue Bomber offense that is one of the more balanced in the Colonial League. That offense is led by senior quarterback Tekoah Guedes.
Guedes, a transfer from Northern Lehigh where he was a starter last year, has impressed in his first and last season at Palmerton. So far he’s thrown for over 1,000 yards and has scored eight touchdowns through the air. He does have eight interceptions thus far, in large part due to the 196 pass attempts he has thrown in eight games.
Guedes is just as dangerous in the running game. He leads the Blue Bombers with 530 yards and 11 touchdowns. Running backs Andrew Sabo (313 yards) and Aaron Stasko (94 yards) have scored two touchdowns a piece as well to provide a nice compliment to Guedes.
On the outside, however, might be Palmerton’s biggest challenge to deal with.
The Blue Bombers possess three pass catchers with over 20 receptions, including Jordan Nelson’s team-high 25 catches for 391 yards and four touchdowns.
Mike Eckhart is second on the team with 264 receiving yards on 20 catches, while Sabo and Stasko both have over 130 yards through the air.
