Stephen Walter Reszetar, 85, died Sept. 24, 2017.
Born in Ormrod, he was a son of the late Josaphat and Nancy Reszetar.
He was a 1955 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and was a fleet officer for 23 years, having had command of both the U.S.S. Lowe (DE-325) and the U.S.S. Kyes (DD-787).
He was an international business consultant and executive for three decades.
He played soccer against a top professional team in Spain before 40,000 fans and he climbed to the top of George Washington’s head on Mount Rushmore.
He is survived by a son, Laurence; a daughter-in-law, Nancy; a granddaughter, Kellyn; a grandson, Liam; family and friends he counted as family; and four sisters, Catherine, Pauline, Irene and Nancy.
He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
Arrangements were made by Reichel Funeral Home Inc., Northampton.
