Catasauqua: St. Mary’s Church plans Octoberfest

St. Mary’s Church, 122 Union St., is excited to announce its first-ever Octoberfest. The event will take place Oct. 21 beginning 5 p.m. (following the 4 p.m. Mass), in the parish center and parking lot. This event will feature German foods - knockwurst, bratwurst, pork, spaetzle and kraut - as well as Octoberfest beers and wine. There will be dancing and music provided by the Joe Weber Band. The event will conclude 9 p.m.

The Catasauqua American Legion, 330 Second St., will host Comedy for a Cause featuring Raymond the Amish Comic Oct. 21.

The doors open 7 p.m., and the show is 8-10 p.m. Proceeds benefit Dog T.A.G.S. (Train, Assist, Guide, Service).

Food and alcohol will be sold separately.

The Catty Club, 226 Pine St., will have a chicken dinner bingo Oct. 21. The doors open 4 p.m., and bingo starts at 5 p.m.

Included in the price of a ticket will be 15 games of bingo and dinner. There will also be a Chinese auction.

The Catasauqua American Legion will be having its 100-percent-homemade breakfast buffet 8 a.m.-noon Oct. 22. The public is invited.

The menu includes all-you-can-eat eggs, bacon, sausage links, SOS, home fries, French toast, juice, coffee and tea.

The Catasauqua Main Streets business breakfast will be held 8:30-10 a.m. Oct. 25 at Pie’s On Pizza, 102 Pine St.

The breakfast is sponsored by Pie’s On Bistro and Market. The event is sponsored by Beck Packaging. This is an opportunity to meet people and other businesses in both Catasauqua and North Catasauqua.

Guest speaker is Tina Roseberry, director of planning for the City of Easton. Her topic of discussion will be how we can all work together to achieve successful redevelopment and the planning tools to help Catasauqua move forward.
