Shirley S. Kutz, 82, of Macungie, died Sept. 23, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Edwin L. Kutz. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Elsie (Bowers) Godusky.
She was a graduate of Emmaus High School.
She was an active member of the community being a member and officer in many organizations including a three time vice-president of Emmaus Senior Citizens, past-president of POF, a volunteer for Bethlehem Special Olympics and was a SPARK and ARC assistant for AARP.
She worked in sales and management at Hess’s Department Store for 27 years, retiring in 1997 and was the voice of Pip the Mouse during the holiday season at Hess’s from 1987 to 1989.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus.
She is survived by daughters, LuAnn Hunt and Joanne and her husband Ray Schissler; son, Jeffrey Walbert; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Larry; grandson, Matthew DeEsch and seven siblings.
