John Zieserl Jr., 90, of Bath, died Sept. 27, 2017, at his residence. He was the husband of Catherine D. (Rute) Zieserl for 46 years.
Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John Sr. and Julia (Galles) Zieserl.
He was a career U.S. Navy man with 25 years of service and earned the rank of Signalman Chief Petty Officer, was in many conflicts and ended his career during the Vietnam War.
He was a parts manager for Gilboy Ford, Whitehall, for 29 years before he retired in 1989.
He was a member of Valleyview Baptist Church, Northampton.
He was a longtime member and former teacher for several years with Naval Enlisted Reserve Association, Lehigh Valley chapter, Bethlehem.
He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association, Whitehall.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John III and his wife Eileen of Bethlehem; a daughter, April and her husband John Shaheen of Easton; a brother, Richard Musselman of Macungie; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Todd and Amanda; and three great-grandchildren, Ella, Lily and Rosaline.
