Hokendauqua: Last chance to register for HPPA basketball

Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association will hold a final girls and boys basketball registration for the 2017-18 season 6-8 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 6, at Hokendauqua Fire Company, 3022 S. Second St.

Online registration will also continue until Oct. 6. Visit hokeypark.org.

The next meeting of Woman’s Club of Whitehall will be 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road. The evening’s theme is “Pet Month,” and the club will collect items for animal shelters, such as pet food and treats, cat litter, clean used towels and small blankets. Club members will also collect metal can tabs, as well as boxed pasta and rice sides for the food pantry.

We Sing is the evening’s entertainment.

Township women interested in membership are invited to attend.

The first annual Hokendauqua fire hall golf benefit will be held Oct. 14 at Willow Brook Golf Course. Registration begins 8 a.m., and shotgun start is 9 a.m.

There will be a catered dinner afterward at the fire hall.

There will be a blessing of the pets service 2 p.m. Oct. 15 in Parker Hall at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Everyone is invited to bring whatever pet you may have for a blessing of the pet and the caregiver(s).

Save the date of Nov. 11 on your calendar. Faith is having its annual fall craft fair and quilt sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There also will be homemade baked goods to enjoy.

The bingo that was planned for Oct. 22 at Faith has been canceled. The church is discussing another date for the event.

Although two months away, tickets are going fast for Faith’s annual Christmas tea, to be held 2 p.m. Dec. 3.
