Coplay Public Library: Library book/bake sale to be held Friday, Saturday

Our fall book/bake sale is finally here! Join us 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 6-7 for great bargains and delicious treats.

We have many books in need of a good home, and our team of local bakers has promised a wide variety of goodies that enchant you!

***

Reminder: Storytime and crafts with Miss Veronica will be 11 a.m. Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26. All ages are welcome, and there is no preregistration required.

***

Don’t forget to pick up your Boscov’s shopping pass for the store’s annual Friends Helping Friends shopping day Oct. 17. Stop by the library and purchase your 25-percent-off shopping pass for a cost, which is donated to the library.

All Boscov’s stores will be open that day from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Simply present your pass at the time of purchase and receive your discount (some restrictions apply).

Call the library for cost of the pass and other information.

***

Due to the annual Coplay Halloween parade, the library will be closing 6 p.m. Oct. 17. Any materials due that day will now be due Oct. 18.

We hope all of our little readers (and big ones) enjoy the festivities!

***

On Oct. 21, for the younger crowd, we will show “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” 11:30 a.m.

At 1 p.m., the feature will be “The Mummy” (PG-13), starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.

***

Join our experts for game night 5 p.m. Oct. 30. Once again, our Scrabble experts will be on hand to give you some pointers to make you an expert, too.

***

Don’t have a library card but want one? No problem! We will give first-time cards to any resident of Whitehall-Coplay School District free of charge (children need to be at least age 5).

Just stop by the library with a valid ID, and in a matter of minutes, you will have access to a vast world of knowledge and fun.

***

Remember, you can now download magazines and e-books to all your electronic devices from our Zinio and Overdrive platforms. You will never have to leave your home, and there are never any overdue fees.

All you need to start is a library card and a password.

The Borough of Coplay will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2019. We will be collecting memorabilia to display throughout the entire year.

If you would like to loan any items to the library for the entire community to enjoy, please stop in and talk to a staff member.
