The community food bank, operated by Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association in the basement of borough hall, will be open 8:30-10 a.m. Oct. 10. Among the more immediate needs, food pantry volunteers say they need donations of rice, fruit cups, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly.

Coplay Sports Inc. will meet 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Sixth Street field house. The public is invited.
The upcoming youth basketball and cheerleading programs will be on the agenda.

A crowd favorite, East Hills Middle School Band and Front, will again be in the line of march at the Oct. 17 Halloween parade, held annually by Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association.
Certainly leading the musical organizations will be Whitehall High School’s Marching Zephyr Band.

No, your eyes didn’t deceive you. Coplay Borough Police Department has, as a part of its vehicle patrol unit, a brand-new black pickup truck. The decision of what type of vehicle to purchase came down to economics. The truck was lower in cost than an sedan or SUV.
