Carl Nachesty, 84, a lifelong resident of Northampton, died Sept. 7, 2017. He was the husband of Miriam L. (Heller) Nachesty for 61 years.

He graduated from Northampton High School and Temple University.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was the owner of Chip’s Lunch, Northampton, for 40 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Tammy, Mary and her husband Kevin Hittinger of Lehigh Township, Beth and her husband Christopher Dax of Dove Canyon, Calif., and Lisa; three sisters, Shirley and her husband Joseph Kovalchik of Northampton, Jean and her husband Al Makovsky of Whitehall and Martha Freeman of Cohasset, Mass.; a brother, Stephen of Northampton; and five grandchildren, Amara, Jessie, Josh, Jen and Jacqueline.
