Walter Kuchinos

Walter Kuchinos, 95, of Wescosville, died Sept. 9, 2017, at Lehigh Commons, Lower Macungie Township. He was the husband of Tessie (Mazur) Kuchinos for 70 years.

Born in Bath, he was a son of the late Paul and Sophie (Dziadyk) Kuchinos.

He was a graduate of Northampton High School. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, both Kutztown and Temple universities and Muhlenberg College.

He was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a prisoner of war in Poland and Germany.

He taught auto body repair for both Allentown School District and Lehigh County Vo-Tech for 35 years until he retired in 1985.

He was a member of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Northampton.

He was a member of the Ex-Prisoners of War of the Lehigh Valley. He was a charter member of Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714.

He was a self-taught pysanky egg decorator and customized eggs for family special events.

He is survived by a son, Michael A. and his wife Georgine of Rockdale, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia and her husband William Jones of Blandon and Kathleen and her husband Allan Bach of Hellertown; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
