Bernard C. Schwindenhammer, 79, of Allentown, died Sept. 18, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospice after a brief illness. He was the husband of Bonita “Schwindy” (Schadt) Schwindenhammer for 50 years.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Francis and Hermina (Nicklas) Schwindenhammer.

He was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

He was an U.S. Army veteran.

He retired from General Electric after 35 years. He then worked for Lehigh County Chore Service.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Allentown, and grew up attending St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catasauqua.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas J. and his wife Kathleen of Northampton and Timothy D. and his wife Maria of Macungie; and two grandchildren, Shane and Drew.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Frances Mai, Dorothy Arthur and Marcella Motsko.
