Walter Kuchinos

Walter Kuchinos, 95, of Wescosville, died peacefully surrounded by family Sept. 9, 2017, at Lehigh Commons, Lower Macungie Township. He was the husband of Tessie (Mazur) Kuchinos, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage July 19, 2017. Born in Bath, he was the son of the late Paul and Sophie (Dziadyk) Kuchinos.

He was a graduate of Northampton High School and continued his education at University of Pennsylvania, Kutztown University, Temple University, and Muhlenberg College.

He taught auto body repair for the Allentown School District and Lehigh County Vo-tech Department for 35 years, retiring in 1985.

He was a member of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Northampton.

He honorably served the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a prisoner of War in Poland and Germany. He was a member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War of the Lehigh Valley and a charter member of the Northampton VFW Post #4714.

He was a self taught Pysanky egg decorator, enhancing all of his families special events with a custom designed Pysanky egg.

He is survived by his wife; son, Michael A. and his wife Georgine, of Rockdale, Fla.; daughters, Patricia and her husband William Jones, of Blandon, Kathleen and her husband Allan Bach, of Hellertown; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was the last of eight brothers.

Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements were made by the Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton.
