After seven years of hard work and commitment, 17-year-old Thomas Darlington of Upper Macungie Township was recently promoted to Eagle Scout at Cedar Church, Cetronia, home of Boy Scout Troop 29.
Taking six months of planning and design work, Darlington’s project was to add four raised gardens to Upper Macungie Township’s Lone Lane Park.
His plan also included new rules signs for the park.
Twenty-five Scouts from Troop 29 gathered this spring at the park and within 12 hours, had the work completed.
All of the resources to complete the project were provided by the Darlington family.
Darlington is a junior at Parkland High School.
