Agnew N. Conrad

Agnew N. Conrad, 84, of Alburtis, died Sept. 15, 2017, at Lehigh Center. He was the husband of Ruby R. (Rauch) Conrad, to whom he was married for over 62 years. Born in Macungie, he was the son of the late Clarence F. and Beatrice (Muth) Conrad.

He was a graduate of Emmaus High School

He was employed at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. for five years. He retired from the Philadelphia Bethlehem and New England Rail Road Co. (Bethlehem Steel) as an engineer with 38 years of service.

He was a veteran of the Koran War, where he served as a sergeant.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 191, Emmaus and the VFW Post 7923, Egypt.

He was a member of the Macungie Band for many years and the Emmaus Drum and Bugle Corp. for 12 years.

He was a member of the Alburtis Fire Co., a life member of the Macungie Fire Co. and Boyertown Fire Co.

He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Alburtis.

He is survived by his wife; nephews, Scott A. Mohr and his wife Debbie, Thomas L. Mohr and Kerry J. Mohr and wife Tara; niece, Kathleen. He was predeceased by a brother, Carl.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville. Call 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 20 in the funeral home.
