BASD

District-wide hurricane fundraiser

The Bethlehem Area School District is holding a district wide fundraiser at all BASD schools.The event has been organized by Freedom and Liberty HS students.

The “BASD Helps Heal Houston” bracelets will be available for purchase at all BASD schools and at the high schools atheletic offices on weekdays and at football games at the BASD stadium.

Donations are welcome; checks are payable to Freedom HS Student Council with “Houston Independent School District Foundation in the memo area.

Public Poem event Oct. 18

The BASD and the Favorite Poem Project will host a public reading event at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 in the rotunda at city hall, 10 E. Church St. Several pre-selected poems will be read. For information, visit http:favpoembeth.weebly.com.

BASD Foundation fundraiser

The Build a Foundation - Buy A Brick project to benefit programs supported by The Foundation for the BASD is selling custom bricks keepsakes.

Purchased bricks must be picked up at the new Nitschmann MS open house between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 4 or at the school between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 5.

Charter Arts

Photography workshop Oct. 3

There will be an Introduction to Photography Workshop with Michael Fickes from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 3, 10 and 17 at the Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts, 321 East Third St.

Open house dates set

The Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts will host an open house at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24, Nov. 14, and Jan. 18 for tours. There is a presentation in the theater beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. All events will take place at the school, 321 E. Third St. Visit www.CharterArts.org.

Moravian Academy

Open house Oct. 28

There will be a lower and middle school admissions open house from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 28 at the school’s Church Street campus, 422 Heckewelder Place. Reservations may be made by contacting Ingrid Gerber by phone at 610-868-8571 or by emailing igerber@moravianacademy.org for the lower school; or Meredith McCambridge, phone 610-866-6677, for the middle school.
