Bernard G. “Bernie” Shearn, 65, of Alburtis, died Sept. 9, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Janet M. (Garvey) Shearn for the past 45 years. Born in Ashland, he was the son of the late Bernard H. and Helen (Johnson) Shearn.
He as a machine operator at Pabst/Stroh Brewery for 28 years until his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam era.
He was a former volunteer and Lieutenant for the Alburtis Fire Company, a member of the Macungie Ambulance Corp., serving as a first responder and was a senior member of the Wheels of Time Street Rod Association. He was a 1970 graduate of Cardinal Brennan High School, Fountain Springs, Pa.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Shawn and his wife Lisa; daughter, Heather and her husband Daniel Lindenmuth; sisters, Cynthia Muldoon, Patricia Orth, Rosalie Swisher and Pamela Stanitis; devoted Pap of Jared, Connor, Adam, Kyle, Ryan and Quinn.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A gathering will be held noon to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the funeral home.
