Quentin H. Dimmick, 72, of Northampton, died Aug. 29, 2017, at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth. He was the husband of the late Brenda C. (Edelman) Dimmick.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harley W. Dimmick and Irene C. (Dietz) Dimmick.
He was a shipping clerk for the former Cross Country Clothes/Rapid Apparel, Northampton, for 30 years before he retired in 1995.
He was a former choir director and organist for various churches throughout the greater Lehigh Valley and taught organ and piano to many students through the years.
He was a member of Pennsylvania Dutch Gudsau Lodge Numa Ains on the Lechaw (Number One on the Lehigh), Northampton.
He is survived by a daughter, Jill S. and her husband Todd Schappell of Emmaus; a son, Daryn Q. and his wife Kathy Jo of Northampton; a brother; Maurice S. and his wife Darlene of Northampton; eight grandchildren, Donald (Shana) Dimmick, Rebecca (Jason) Santos, Timothy Dimmick, Jessica (Ted) Hollinger, Andrew Rider, Todd Jr. (Shannon) Schappell, Dylan (Sam) Dimmick and Tyler Rider; and six great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church’s music ministry or to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ’s music ministry, both c/o the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
