Coplay Public Library: Come to the library’s open house Sept. 14

Coplay Public Library is hosting an open house 3-6 p.m. Sept. 14. Everyone is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Reminder: The library has returned to regular hours - 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Storytime and crafts with Miss Veronica will resume 11 a.m. Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28. All ages are welcome, and no preregistration is necessary.

Join us for a movie 1 p.m. Sept. 16. This month, we are showing “Guardians of the Galaxy” (PG-13).

Bring your pillows and blankets!

Parents and children are welcome.

Game night will be 5-7 p.m. Sept. 25. Scrabble is the popular choice, but if you would like to suggest a different game, please let us know.

The library is having a comedy night Sept. 30 at the Wisecrackers Comedy Club, located at Ramada Inn, 1500 MacArthur Road, Whitehall. Join us for laughter with comedians Mike Speirs, Andy Hayward and Brian Gray.

Doors open 8 p.m., and the show is from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

It will soon be time for our annual fall book/bake sale, set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 6-7. We will have many books for you to choose from, as well as delicious baked goods donated by members of the community.

Donations for the book sale are currently being accepted. While we no longer accept textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books or VHS tapes, donations of books, magazines and DVDs are always welcome.

All donations are tax deductible and can be dropped off at the library during open hours.

If you would like to donate baked goods, please contact the library or a board member.

Don’t forget, we have e-books and magazines you can download to your Nook and Kindle from our Overdrive and Zinio platforms. All you need is a library card and a password. You never have to leave your home to return anything, and there are no late fees.
