On Sept. 9, American Club of Coplay will hold one of the largest picnics in town, a family-orientated affair, at the pavilion at its grounds off Cherry Street and Stone Alley.
Attended by hundreds, the picnic, which includes a modest fee, features live bands, events for children and a huge variety of food. Enjoy everything from halupkies to hot dogs.
Also on Sept. 9, the club will celebrate its 81st anniversary.

Sept. 13 will be the final outdoor twilight concert at the Community Plaza, Second and Chestnut streets. The free event, starting 6 p.m., features Chris Aguayo.

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association, which is wrapping up its 2017 fund drive, has begun planning its annual community Halloween parade. The parade is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 17. The rain date is Oct. 24.
The association is accepting reservations from groups and organizations. The deadline is Oct. 10.
