William P. Bakos Sr., 92, of Miller Heights, Bethlehem Township, died Aug. 27, 2017. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Stephen and Lucy Bakos. He was the husband of Helen E. Bakos for 60 years.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a machine operator for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and later at Luria Steel Products Corporation, from which he retired.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

He is survived by a son, Bill Jr.; a daughter, Deborah (Bakos) Stemrich; three grandchildren, Joseph and Dana Stemrich and William A. Bakos; and a great-granddaughter, Aria Stemrich.
