Shala Shiela Mokgethi, 71, of Emmaus, died Aug. 20, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, she was the daughter of Matilda Ramakutana, of South Africa.

She was a Fulbright Scholar and was an information officer with the United Nations.

She is survived by her mother; daughters, Dr. Bianca, of Emmaus and Dr. Sonia.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. A visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
