St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will hold its annual picnic noon-9 p.m. Sept. 3 on the church grounds, Ruch and Chestnut streets. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy music, games and delicious food fare at the picnic.

You will most likely run into some friends and neighbors from the community, too.

Since children have returned to school, please be aware of more activity each morning as you leave for work. Students will be walking to the bus stops, and there will be increased traffic. Be safe and aware, and give yourself a bit of extra time in the morning.

Good luck to all students participating in a fall sport. And best of luck to the Whitehall Zephyr varsity football team who will take on the Emmaus Green Hornets 7 p.m. Sept. 1 at Zephyr stadium. Come on out, fans, and cheer on the team.
