Upper Macungie Township police are once again organizing Operation Safe Stop.

This program is for residents to nominate school bus stops in the township.

Those stops will then be visited by a police officer who will look for safety issues and red light violations while interacting with the children and parents.

Last year’s program was very successful and there were more than 700 stops visited throughout the school year.

Nominate a bus stop by emailing Officer Bill Rohrbach at wrohrbach@uppermac-pd.org with the location of the stop and the estimated times the bus will be there for pick up and drop off.

This information can be found on the bus stop card that was sent to all students by the Parkland School District.

All other residents should be aware that school will be starting Sept. 5.
