Norwood “Woody” E. George Sr., 90, of Kunkletown and formerly of Little Gap, died Aug. 25, 2017, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Christiana S. (Kocher) George.
Born in Kunkletown, he was a son of the late Perry W. and Miriam (Greenzweig) George.
He was a truck driver and a mail room worker for 43 years at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation until he retired in 1987.
He attended New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville.
He was a life member of Kunkletown Rod and Gun Club; a former member of Spruce Hollow Hunting farms, Kunkletown; and Palmerton Ambulance Corps.
He is survived by a daughter, Goldie G. and her husband Randy Wiese, of Kunkletown; a son, Woody Jr., of Kunkletown; two stepdaughters, Nancy and her husband Robert Shupp of Bowmanstown and Joan and her husband Richard Hartman of Walnutport; two stepsons, Ronald and his wife Jean Edelman of Northampton and Barry Miller of Palmerton; 21 grandchildren; a sister, Gertie Hagenbuch of Kunkletown; a brother, Walter of Palmerton; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a stepson, Henry Miller; a sister, Dolly Greenzweig; and three brothers, Wilmer, Clark and Lee.
