WESTERN SALISBURY
By the time you are reading this, the first day of school will be over and your hands are probably hurting from filling out all those first week of school forms. Your high school and middle schoolers are happily tapping away on their new laptops and telling you which teachers they like and those they do not. If they are not on a laptop, it might be because you have not filled out the Agreement for Laptop Use (version A) and sent it in with a $50 check. Aaahh, the joys of the first week of school.
Another joy of the first week is that it is a short week. There is no school for Salisbury Township School District students Sept. 1 or 4 to celebrate the Labor Day holiday.
Moving beyond the first week, Salisbury Middle School will host an open house 6:45 p.m. Sept. 7 and picture day will be Sept. 11.
Western Salisbury Elementary School will have picture day and the kindergarten through second grade open house Sept. 12. Open house begins 7 p.m.
Salisbury High School will have picture day Sept. 13 and open house 6:45 p.m. Sept. 28.
There will be an operations committee meeting 7 p.m. Sept. 6 at Harry S Truman Elementary School. There will also be a school board meeting 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the administration building.
The Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold the last concert in their summer concert series. The Wandering Singers will perform 4 p.m. Sept. 9.
The Devonshire drop-off will be open Sept. 2 and 5. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Have a great start to the school year everyone!
