Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grimm has ruled a Fountain Hill shooting death a homicide.

Jonathan Diaz-Santos of Bethlehem was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem Campus, at 9:18 p.m. Monday.

According to a press release from Grimm’s office, the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the body.

The shooting took place Monday, Aug. 28, at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Seneca Street in Fountain Hill. An autopsy was planned for Tuesday morning.

The Lehigh County coroner’s office and the Fountain Hill Police Department are conducting the investigation with the assistance of Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin and the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force.
