Upper Milford supervisors at their Aug. 17 meeting approved an ordinance which would regulate medical marijuana facilities in the township. The board is not aware of any pending applications for such facilities, or even of any interest, but agreed it is important to set parameters for such facilities in case someone does apply for one.
In other business at a fairly routine meeting, the board received additional information from township resident Robert Dennis about a logging operation on some 10 acres of land on South Mountain. Dennis had appeared before the board earlier in the month to express concern about what’s going on there.
Supervisors last week said they shared his concern and asked staff to look into it.
“We have a bunch of questions,” supervisors Chairman George DeVault said.
The board also received a request from Upper Milford Mennonite Church to once again hold a Light the Night program to give local youth a safe place to celebrate Halloween. The local churches which sponsor this annual event are planning to hold it 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 in the township building.
