Bernard “Ben” F. Sagan Sr., 82, formerly of Bethlehem, died Aug. 14, 2017 at his daughter’s home in Palmyra, where he was currently residing. Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna (Kovalchick) Saganowich. He was the husband of Mary D. (Budihas) Sagan for 58 years.
He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was an electrician for the former Graphic Management Associates of Allentown for many years before he retired. Prior to that, he was a sewing machine mechanic for various businesses in the Lehigh Valley.
He was a former member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bernard F. Jr. and his wife Lynn of Appelton, Wisc.; a daughter, Lisa of Palmyra; two brothers, Stephen, and Francis and his wife Dawn, all of Whitehall; a sister, Jean and her husband Philip Wavrek; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Madelyn and Karalyn.
He was predeceased by a brother, George; a sister, Margaret; and twin brothers. John and Jerome.
