Richard L. “Dick” Ritter Sr., 81, formerly of Emmaus, died Aug. 8, 2017, in his residence. He was the husband of Bernice (Deveraux) Ritter. They were married for 57 years. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Morris and Edna (Thomas) Ritter.

He was a school teacher at Salisbury Middle School for 25 years.

He was an avid championship golfer who led many teams to top honors.

He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a sports fan and die-hard Eagles fan.

He was a lover of the Word of God and studied the Bible.

He is survived by his wife; son, Richard L. Jr.; daughters, Pamela Bila and Denise Heinbuch; sister, Dolores Elias; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald A.M. and half-brothers, Dennis and Gary Breisch.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
