Bernard “Ben” F. Sagan Sr., 82, formerly of Bethlehem, died Aug. 14, 2017, at his daughter’s home in Palmyra, where he was residing. He was the husband of Mary D. (Budihas) Sagan for 58 years.
Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna (Kovalchick) Saganowich.
He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was an electrician for the former Graphic Management Associates of Allentown for many years before he retired. Prior to that, he was a sewing machine mechanic for various businesses in the Lehigh Valley.
He was a former member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bernard F. Jr. and his wife Lynn of Appelton, Wisc.; a daughter, Lisa of Palmyra; two brothers, Stephen, and Francis and his wife Dawn, all of Whitehall; a sister, Jean and her husband Philip Wavrek; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Madelyn and Karalyn.
He was predeceased by a brother, George; a sister, Margaret; and twin brothers John and Jerome.
There will be a calling hour from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m., both on Aug. 21 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield, 18069.
