Northampton: Library creates teen escape room
Northampton Area Public Library will host a Harry Potter-themed teen escape room 6 p.m. Aug. 11. Participants will use elements of the room, solve the puzzles and escape Azkaban.
Registration is required.
Friends of Northampton Area Public Library will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser 4:30-6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Gin Mill and Grille, 1750 Main St.
Dinner includes all-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad and a roll.
The event also includes 50/50 and gift card raffles and a bake sale.
Tickets can be purchased at the library’s help desk.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1235 Main St., will hold a flea market and bake sale 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 12.
Food also will be available for purchase.
Proceeds benefit the church building fund.

Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 will host a concert by Prugal, an Irish rock band, 8-11 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Post home, Main Street and Laubach Avenue. Doors open 6:30 p.m.
DJ Flip Side will entertain with oldies music 7:30-10:30 p.m. Sept. 30.
The VFW hosts polkas and button box music 7:30-10:30 p.m. every Friday night.
The social hall is accepting new members. Membership is open to everyone; previous military service is not required.

The Atlas Cement Company Memorial Museum will be open 1-3 p.m. Aug. 13. It is located next to borough hall, 1401 Laubach Ave.
The museum will be open the second and fourth Sunday through September.

Northampton Liederkranz, 402 E. Ninth St., will hold its Summerfest celebration 2-9 p.m. Aug. 19.
The public is invited to attend. There is a cost.
Live outdoor entertainment includes Peter Johann Band, 2-5 p.m., and Rock Solid, 6-9 p.m.
Live indoor entertainment by Kate & Those Guys will take place 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
Food will be catered by Mr. BBQ and Potts Hot Dogs. Homemade halupkie casserole and halushkie will be on the menu as well.
A draft beer special also will be part of the day.

Northampton Area Food Bank will hold its annual volunteer appreciation picnic 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Indianland, 787 Almond Road, Walnutport. Any and all volunteers from throughout the year are invited.
Meat and beverages will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

The 2-year-old playgroup class meets 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12. Children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.
Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
