James R. McGonigle, 82, died Aug. 3, 2017. He was the husband of the late Joan M. (Klein) McGonigle.

Born in Allentown, he was a son the late James and Margaret (Lentz) McGonigle.

He was in the U.S. Army.

He was a mixer for 30 years for Pillsbury.

He played baseball for Allentown Patriots.

He is survived by two daughters, Elaine Schmoyer and Kerin and her husband Drew Nicholas; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Patricia and her husband Ben Taylor, Eleanor and her husband Joseph O’Donnell and Jean McGonigle; a brother, Hobart McGonigle; a sister-in-law, Ella McGonigle; and three stepsons, Allen and his wife Natalie (Yost) Phillips and Timothy A. and Rick Phillips.

He was predeceased by a brother, Charles McGonigle.
