It’s that time of year – Salisbury School District is starting to ramp up for the 2017-2018 year.
High school students must pick-up their laptops between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Aug. 14 or 16. Pickup will occur in the school library.
Middle school students must pick-up their laptops between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Aug. 17 or 18. Pickup will be in the library.
In order to receive the laptop, a completed form A (available on the school website) and the optional $50 insurance premium will be due. Any student with outstanding laptop repairs prior to June 1 must settle those accounts before laptop distribution.
The Salisbury Middle School Athletic Booster Club will hold a clothing drive Aug. 12 at SMS. Drop off bagged or boxed clothing and other acceptable goods at the main entrance between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The pick-up occurs 1:30 p.m. so please do not be late.
The Salisbury girls varsity soccer Applebee’s flapjack breakfast will be held 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Applebee’s at 1510 Cedar Crest Blvd. There is a cost. Please see a varsity soccer player for tickets or purchase at the door.
The district is also now accepting applications for the 2017 Alumni Wall of Honor. Deadline for applications is Sept. 1. This program is designed to recognize notable Salisbury Township School District alumni who have brought honor to the district. All nominees must be a Salisbury Township School District graduate and at least 25 years old. Nominations must be postmarked by Sept. 1 and mailed or emailed to Lynn Fuini-Hetten at lfuinihetten@salisburysd.org.
A regular school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 in the administration building. There will be a curriculum and technology meeting 7 p.m. Aug. 28 in the administration building.
Please note school is right around the corner. Students in grades kindergarten, sixth and ninth will start classes Aug. 28. All other students will report Aug. 29. Look for paperwork from your child’s school to be arriving soon.
The Franko Farm yard waste drop off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12.
