Irma M. Durich, 96, of Macungie, died July 27, 2017, at the Willow Assisted Living Center. She was the wife of the late John Durich who died in 1990. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Giacinto and Mary (Spironello) Piovesan.
She attended Allentown High School and spent over 60 years as a waitress and hostess in some of the Lehigh Valley’s finest restaurants.
She was an active member of the Allentown Italian Club serving as president of both the ladies auxiliary and of the senior citizens group at the club.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
She helped run her husband’s business, Roma Baking Company for several years.
She was an avid bowler in her youth and was a talented seamstress, making many dresses for her family and neighbors. She also enjoyed making ceramics.
Her favorite occupation was being a grandmother and great-grandmother to her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Anita Gaugler; sons, Randall and Terry and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Bill, Amy, Scott, Jennifer and Brian; great-grandchildren, C. Jacob, Julia, Nicholas and Milo.
