Richard R. Frederick

Richard R. Frederick, 78, of Northampton, died July 22, 2017, at home. He was the husband of Paula J. (Nyce) Frederick for 55 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Malcolm and Rozelle (Jones) Frederick.

He was a 1957 graduate of Northampton High School. He earned a business degree from the former Bethlehem Business School.

He and his wife owned and operated Main Street Restaurant, Northampton, for the past 28 years. He previously co-owned and operated the former Hillside Drive-in and Miniature Golf, Northampton, for 11 years and the former Penn Ridge Cleaners, Perkasie, for 10 years.

He was a member of Zion Stone United Church of Christ, Kreidersville, and attended St. Paul’s UCC, Northampton.

He was a former coach and pitching coach of the Lehigh Valley Panthers and the Lehigh Valley Thunder and Lightening girls fast pitch teams for seven years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Donna L. and her husband Salvatore Zangari of Northampton and Susan R. and her husband John Adams of Bend, Ore.; and a grandson, John Zangari of Northampton.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Frederick.

The family has requested that people visit Main Street Restaurant to remember good times.
