Northampton: Music request night planned at VFW
Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 will hold an open music request night 7-10 p.m. July 29 at the Post home, Main Street and Laubach Avenue. D’s Entertainment Connection will play the music you want to hear. Doors open 4 p.m. The public is invited. There is no charge for members.
Prugal, an Irish rock band, will take to the stage 8-11 p.m. Aug. 12. Doors open 6:30 p.m.
DJ Flip Side will entertain with oldies music 7:30-10:30 p.m. Sept. 30.
The VFW hosts polkas and button box music 7:30-10:30 p.m. every Friday night.
The social hall is accepting new members. Membership is open to everyone; previous military service is not required.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet noon Aug. 9 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.
Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1235 Main. St., will hold a flea market and bake sale 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 12.
Food also will be available for purchase.
Proceeds benefit the church building fund.

Northampton Liederkranz, 402 E. Ninth St., will hold its Summerfest celebration 2-9 p.m. Aug. 19.
The public is invited to attend. There is a cost.
Live outdoor entertainment includes Peter Johann Band, 2-5 p.m., and Rock Solid, 6-9 p.m.
Live indoor entertainment by Kate & Those Guys will take place 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
Food will be catered by Mr. BBQ and Potts Hot Dogs. Homemade halupkie casserole and halushkie will be on the menu as well.
A draft beer special also will be part of the day.

Friends of Northampton Area Public Library will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser 4:30-6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Gin Mill and Grille, 1750 Main St.
Dinner includes all-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad and a roll.
The event also includes 50/50 and gift card raffles and a bake sale.
Tickets can be purchased at the library’s help desk.
