Coplay library: Game night planned for July 31 at Coplay Public Library

Game night at the library will be held 5-7 p.m. July 31. Our Scrabble experts will be on hand to tackle anything that comes their way.

If you would like to try a different game, feel free to see what the library has in storage, or bring one of your own from home.

***

The library continues to hold a food drive throughout the month of July. All donations will be going to Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association’s food bank.

You may drop off your donations any time during the library’s open hours.

***

Join us for our final days of Christmas in July! Drop in and pick an ornament from our tree and help someone or an organization in the community. There are many fine groups in Coplay that could use your time and energy to help their cause.

Remember, this is not about giving money; it’s about donating your time and talents and giving back to these organizations - building a better world!

***

We still have some stuffed animals that are in need of a good home. Stop by and participate in our stuffed pet adoption event. For a donation, your child can select a stuffed animal to adopt, and all proceeds will go to Peaceable Kingdom.

***

Movie night will be 8:30 p.m. Aug. 11. We will be showing “The Lorax.”

***

While our summer learning program (SLP) for children and adults ends Aug. 19 with a Wildlands Conservancy visit 11 a.m., we are still accepting new members. All ages are welcome!

Our weekly SLP activities are:

Disney storytime, 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays

The Stem Lab with Miss Veronica, 6 p.m. Wednesdays

Munchkin Music with Miss Deb, 4 p.m. Thursdays

If the weather cooperates, we will be having our activities on the lawn.

***

Summer hours at the library are noon-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

***

Don’t forget: Our Overdrive e-books and Zinio magazines can be downloaded to your Nooks, Kindles and tablets - perfect for vacation!

All you need is a library card. Stop by the library for a card and information on registering with a PIN number.

***

Donations are being accepted for our October book sale. We no longer accept textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books or VHS tapes.

All donations are tax deductible and can be dropped off at the library during open hours.
