The Aug. 2 meeting of Catasauqua Garden Club will feature the presentation “Victorian Flowers” by Kathleen Coddington. It will take place 1 p.m. at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.

Horticulture and artistic design entries should be in place early.

Curious garden-friendly visitors are welcome to share the hospitality and this month’s intriguing program.

The George Taylor House will be rocking and rolling Aug. 6 for First Sunday Shindig. During the event, the winner of the Name the Mouse contest will be announced.

Volunteers are needed for various positions - namely, the food table needs to be covered, and tour guides are needed. If you will be there and know what you want to do, send an email to info@georgetaylorhouse.com.

Catasauqua High School’s Class of 1966 will be having a “Just Because We’re Getting Older” picnic Sept. 16 at North Catasauqua Park. The price includes appetizers 2 p.m. and a meal 4 p.m.

This is a BYOB event. The class will provide cake, soda, water and mixers.
